If you grew up in the area, there is a good chance that the Cleveland Zoo was a childhood staple. First opened in 1882, the zoo has grown quite a bit over the past 140 years. Today, it rests on over 183 acres and has a number of ways for people of all ages to have the perfect day. For your wedding day, they offer several Cleveland Zoo spots where you can celebrate your wedding alongside some wild friends! 

Details of the Grounds

The Cleveland Zoo has pretty much everything you could need for your wedding day. Your celebration will start in their separate dressing rooms. So you and your partner can get ready with your besties. 

For your ceremony, you are going to have several outdoor pavilions; it’s just a matter of finding the animals you want to crash your party! You can hang out with the elephants over at the African Elephant Crossing or check out the rhinos over at Rising Waters.

Once it’s time for your reception, you will have several options.  The most popular option is Stillwater Place where you will have indoor and outdoor spaces as well as a private patio for your cocktail hour. This location is able to accommodate up to 300 guests. 

For those looking for something a little more rustic, you can use Wolf Lodge. This spot has log walls, a working stone fireplace, and premium views of the surrounding areas.

If you want something truly unique, check out the Primate, Cat, and Aquatics area, where you will have tiered seating with glass windows showing off the namesake enclosures. This spot can host up to 200 guests. 

Photography Opportunities

Because you will have access to the Cleveland Zoo grounds, you are going to have so many great wedding portrait ops! After you are done grabbing pictures in front of the animals and amidst the gardens, be sure to take a spin on the Circle of Wildlife Carousel, where you can sneak a kiss surrounded by the 64 hand-carved animals.

The Cleveland Zoo will take care of all the wedding amenities and offer several options depending on your location. They can handle the tables, chairs, glassware, silverware, and linens. Some of the locations will include a shuttle ride from the free parking lot.
