About The Cleveland Art Museum Wedding Venue

For over a century, the Cleveland Art Museum has been leading the way when it comes to local culture. It was founded in 1913 with the motto “for the benefit of all the people forever.” They really hold true to that with over 63,000 artworks that go across 6,000 years. The museum strives to honor the different cultures that made these pieces throughout the ages. When it comes to their weddings, they celebrate all kinds of love stories including LGBTQ+ ceremonies.

Details of the Grounds

Not only is the Cleveland Art Museum drop-dead gorgeous, but it’s also very versatile. Outside, you can host a wedding in front of the fountain or exchange your vows on the portico leading into the building. Inside, you have several choices. There’s the Gartner Auditorium, where you can get married on the stage, or there is the truly jaw-dropping Ames Family Atrium, complete with a three-story ceiling with glass that brings the outdoors in. There are also lovely little touches like indoor plants.

Once your cocktail hour rolls around, you can place the bar wherever you’d like so the evening rolls by seamlessly. The Atrium tends to be the most popular spot for your reception with room for up to 700 seated guests. They also have the Banquet Room (with a capacity of 100 guests) and a Private Dining Room (up to 60 guests). When you book this venue, you will also have a dressing area where you can get ready before your day begins.

Photography Opportunities

You are going to have so many great Cleveland Art Museum spots for your wedding portraits. I’m always partial to the stairs leading up to the entrance of the building for both couple and group pictures. You can also use the terrace in front of the fountains. Most of the spaces have tons of natural lighting, so every part of your ceremony shines through your pics!

They give you planning services, and you’ll have a day-of coordinator there to help you out. In addition, the museum has a parking garage so your guests can park on the premises. They are going to take care of all the food and drinks, giving your party a meal you’ll want to remember forever!
