About The 78th Street Studios Venue

Located in the lively Gordon Square Arts District, about 7 minutes from downtown Cleveland, 78th Street Studios is the epitome of a venue with industrial vibes. Originally built over 100 years ago in 1905 for the Baker Electric Motor Vehicle Company, it housed American Greetings’ Creative Studios into the 1980s. 

While many of its historic architectural features still give it its signature industrial look, 78th Street Studios is known as a fine art attraction today. Its Third Friday Art Walk draws art enthusiasts every month to share in and appreciate the work of local artists. 

Details of the Grounds

78th Street Studios has five distinct spaces for events. Whether you’re hosting both your ceremony and reception or simply one or the other, there are plenty of ways to utilize their stylish spaces. 

Firstly, The SmART Space can accommodate up to 300 seated guests for a larger celebration. The space has dark floors contrasting with clean white walls and a white ceiling. There are large windows that let in lots of bright, natural light (although they look out onto the parking lot for a not-so-scenic view.) The room also has brightly colored accent walls displaying local artwork and hallways and alcoves that present more like art galleries. 

The RAMP Level is their other large venue with space for up to 300 guests. It’s a darker room with concrete floors, contemporary columns, and architectural features made of wood, glass, and steel.

The HEDGE Gallery is a gorgeous industrial space with a warm, romantic touch. Exposed brick walls are lovely backdrops for intimate ceremonies, and hardwood floors add charm. The space can host up to 100 guests. While it’s great for ceremonies, it can also transform into a lovely reception space. 

If you’re considering a Micro Wedding, the Pinball Lounge offers engaging vintage arcade games that can entertain up to 29 guests. You can also use it for your cocktail hour and Suite 215 Gallery, a more formal art gallery.

Photography Opportunities

If you’re looking for more industrial, almost editorial, and artistic photos, 78th Street Studios is a great option. We can utilize steel and cement features for stylish backdrops. We can also incorporate some of their unique artwork for fun, eclectic pictures. Spaces like Suite 215 Gallery are great for more formal, elegant photos. 

Furthermore, the Pinball Lounge is perfect for fun, playful pics of you and your partner. If you’re looking for outdoor shots, we’ll need to find a nearby park or green area, but this is your spot if you’re all about the industrial look! 

Sticking to a more editorial, classic look? Rent the Suite 226 for some natural window lit portraits. They can make your party look like they walked straight out of a magazine.

Wedding Details

When you host your wedding at 78th Street Studios, your rental package will include tables and chairs for up to 250 guests and furniture setup. You’ll have the freedom to bring in the full-service caterer of your choosing. Additionally, you have the option to bring in your own alcohol (as long as you also hire a professional bartending service to serve.) 

HEDGE Event Rentals also allows you to rent additional touches like drapery, lighting accents, chandeliers, table settings, and more, all in-house and delivered to the venue directly for your wedding day.
