“Universal Studios” in Orlando actually encompasses two separate theme parks: Universal Studios Orlando and Islands of Adventure. It’s newest park EPIC Universe offers additional themes of mysterious, edgy and nerds delight. Since opening in 1990, Universal has been a place for movie enthusiasts and adventure seekers alike to take on exciting rides, learn about filmmaking, and so much more. Over the years, both parks have seen the coming and going of various rides and attractions. In 2010, The Wizarding World of Harry Potter opened at Islands of Adventure, bringing the magical environments of Hogwarts and Hogsmeade to life. It opened to such acclaim that an expansion was announced shortly thereafter, and in 2014, the Wizarding World of Harry Potter: Diagon Alley opened in Universal Studios Orlando.

So, here’s the deal. In order to get married at Universal Orlando, you should think of it more as a quiet elopement rather than a wedding. What I mean by that is they don’t shut down parts of the park or offer grand after-hours private events. You can, however, easily walk in during open hours with a small group of friends and family members with an officiant and a photographer, wearing your wedding attire, and find an iconic or quiet spot to exchange your vows. There will still be crowds around, and your guests will be standing, not seated, but you’ll still be able to capture the intimacy and specialness of a wedding amidst one of the most magical places on earth.

1. Butterbeer: There’s nothing quite like toasting to the rest of your lives with a frothy cup of Butterbeer! You can order it hot, cold, or frozen, and even amp it up a bit with a shot of cinnamon “fire whisky.” How cute is a photo with a Butterbeer foam mustache in your Universal Studios Orlando Wedding photos album? 
2. Hogwarts: In Hogsmeade, out in front of the Hogwarts castle, there is a lovely bridge that perfectly positions you for a shot with the castle in the background. It doesn’t get more signature “Harry Potter” than that! 
3. The Hogwarts Express: The famous large, red steam engine is a functional ride that takes parkhoppers from one park to the other, but it’s also an amazing photo opportunity. A few shots of you cozied up in each other’s arms in the train cabin can make for a charming portrait, too! 
4. Gringotts and the Dragon: In Diagon Alley, the amazing Gringotts building is an absolute must-use for photos. Perched atop the roof is an enormous stationary dragon that comes to life every few minutes with a huge fireball blazing from its mouth. If we time your photos just right, that big fire-breathing dragon makes an incredible shot!! 
5. All of the Little Details: Universal is known for its exceptional attention to detail, and everywhere you look in Harry Potter World, there is artwork, murals, storefronts, and other special touches that make it feel like you’re truly walking down the streets of Hogsmeade or Diagon Alley. We’ll find tons of creative ways to incorporate the shops, signage, and extra special touches to round out a wedding album full of magical memories.
