About The Great Lakes Brewery Wedding Venue

Great Lakes Brewing Company (GLBC) has been making stellar beers in Cleveland since 1988 when it was founded by brothers Patrick and Daniel Conway. Located in the Ohio City neighborhood, GLBC was really the original craft brewery in Ohio. The business stayed independently owned until 2018, when it became an employee-owned company! Today, you can find their delicious brews in 14 states (and Washington DC), or visit GLBC at their Cleveland brewery to taste classics and innovative limited releases at the source!  

When you visit the Brewpub, you’ll find a full menu of GLBC beers and a ton of delectable food items to satiate any hunger. Plus, they do a pretty awesome Sunday brunch and a great happy hour!

Details of the Grounds

Great Lakes Brewery has several event spaces to accommodate a variety of weddings. From intimate Micro Weddings to larger celebrations, there’s a beautiful space to hold any dream wedding. 

The Tasting Room is their largest event space, with room for up to 150 seated guests. Located on the second floor of the brewery, the room has original brick that dates back to the building’s original days as the Leonard Schlather Brewing Co. stables. An antique bar, vintage beer memorabilia, and bistro lighting make it a unique and romantic space for any beer lover. Plus, you and your guests can take in the views of the production brewhouse through the Tasting Room windows, watching the brewers working on the next batch of something delicious. 

The Tasting Room is the brewery’s largest space and the only one that can hold over 50 people. Therefore, you can either opt to use the room exclusively for a reception, or you can use it for your ceremony and reception and have it flipped in between, hosting an offsite cocktail hour for your guests. 

For smaller weddings, The Rockefeller Room is an intimate space within the historic Brewpub. Named after John D. Rockefeller, who rumors say worked in the space as a bookkeeper long ago, the room has a beer barrel wall and furniture made from reclaimed Cleveland wood. It has its own bar, dinner buffet space, and room to seat up to 36 guests. 

Photography Opportunities

The Great Lakes Brewery has a very industrial aesthetic that is great for unique wedding photos full of charm and personality. Tons of exposed brick and ceiling beams are a fun touch in indoor photos. There’s also a signature moss wall in the Tasting Room that is fun for photo ops! The brewery’s urban location means we can also hit the streets, utilizing nearby building exteriors and greenery for fun, innovative pictures you’ll love!

Wedding Details

When you host your wedding at Great Lakes Brewing Company, you work alongside an onsite venue coordinator who will help oversee everything. This includes food and beverage service, staffing, logistics, and setup and teardown of the brewery’s equipment. Their chefs cater a delicious meal that pairs with their award-winning beers, all managed in-house! Additionally, your event will come with all of your linens, glassware, flatware, and china. You can also rent specialty centerpieces directly from the brewery for a cost-effective way to decorate your wedding.
